Do you know how to play Blackjack? Are you a hobbyist interested also in its history and background? Learning the origins brings you to an enlightened path to victory if you're going to play the game.

The history of blackjack is unclear. People believe that the game spawned in some casinos in France in the year 1700. It was dubbed "vingt-et-un" during that time which means "twenty and one".

Blackjack's concept became known because should the player hold an ace of spades and a jack of spades as the first 2 cards, the player has an extra payment. This fully shows the importance of a jack and a black card which led to the dubbing of "Blackjack".

The year was 1800 were it was introduced to the United States. Unfortunately, somewhere between 1850's and 1910, Nevada declared gambling as a felony. 1931 was the date where Nevada re-proclaimed gambling as legal where blackjack was one of the highlights served to gamblers.

The main objective of the game is to get 21 points at the most if possible trying not to exceed 21 (or a bust). If a tiebreaker occurs (a push), the result is both players with cards with equal values.

The following steps are the procedures on how to play blackjack:

1. Player places his/her bet.

2. Dealer gives two cards (facing upward) to a player and one to himself.

3. Dealer draws another card to himself and faces it down.

4. Player is asked if she/he wants to draw a card (or a hit) or if she/he wants to stand.

5. Player may request many hits as she/he wants until the total points of her/his card reached 21 or is busted.

6. If player busts, the casino (or house) will win

7. If player stops at a total card point value closest to 21 without being busted, then the dealer reveals her/his 2nd card.

8. If the dealer's second card has a value of a blackjack (21 total points), then the casino wins. The dealer must draw cards until value of cards is 17 or possibly more. If dealer passed the limit, the player wins. Whoever draws cards and comes close to 21, without being busted is declared winner.

Blackjack is the most popular card game even in the early years. Today, it is still famous and is one of the most played games in casinos worldwide. This is because of its high playability and ease.
